I am pretty excited that Aaron is playing the Canadian Open this week. We have family there and it has always been a special place to us. My mum is there at the moment and she was just telling me how heavy the traffic has been the last 2 days because of the golf. Anyone making their way to Toronto for the Open should make lots of time to see the sights.
Aaron’s game is looking good at the moment. He had me beyond excited after his first couple rounds at Deere Run. There is still up and down over the week and he needs to keep his game solid for the 4 rounds. Isn’t it great to see him shooting so low again though?!
The RBC Canadian Open is hosted by the St, Georges Golf and Country Club in Toronto. St Georges have hosted the Canadian Open 4 times before and is one of the top 3 courses in the country. I have checked this course out before and I think it is stunning – I didn’t play...looked too hard, lol! The last 4 holes have a rep as being especially difficult. Players are going to have their driving accuracy and ball striking nailed over the next few days. Of course putting is always important but at this course getting to the green in the first place can be tough.
Last year Nathan Green claimed his first victory at the Canadian Open after he beat Retief Goosen in a play-off after they both finished with a 270. The purse this week is 5.1 million and the winner will take home a sweet $918,000.
Aaron can’t wait to get out there on Thursday. He will tee off from the 1st at 1:55pm with Chad Collins and Brian Stuard.
